[애1:1-22, 우리말성경]
1 사람으로 가득 찼던 성읍이 얼마나 외롭게 앉아 있는지! 민족들 가운데 뛰어났던 성읍이 어찌 과부처럼 됐는지! 열방들 가운데 공주였던 이 성읍이 노예가 되고 말았다.
2 예루살렘이 밤에 비통하게 울어 눈물이 뺨 위로 흐른다. 그를 사랑하던 사람들 가운데 위로하는 사람이 아무도 없다. 그의 모든 친구들이 배신하고 적이 되고 말았다.
3 유다는 고통과 고역을 겪은 후에 포로가 돼 버렸다. 유다가 민족들 가운데 살며 안식처를 찾지 못한다. 유다를 추적하던 사람들이 그의 고난의 한복판에서 그를 따라잡는다.
4 절기를 지키러 오는 사람이 아무도 없으니 시온으로 가는 길이 슬피 애곡한다. 시온의 모든 성문이 황폐했으니 시온의 제사장들이 탄식한다. 처녀들이 고통을 당하고 시온이 쓰라리게 고통스러워한다.
5 그 적들이 주인이 되고 대적들이 번성한다. 숱한 죄들로 인해 여호와께서 고통을 주셨다. 그의 자녀들은 끌려가 적들 앞에서 포로가 됐다.
6 모든 영광이 딸 시온으로부터 떠났다. 관료들은 풀밭을 찾지 못한 사슴들과 같이 돼서 쫓아오는 사람들 앞에서 힘없이 도망친다.
7 고난과 방황의 날에 예루살렘이 옛날에 갖고 있었던 모든 귀한 것들을 기억한다. 백성들이 적의 손에 떨어졌을 때 그를 돕는 사람이 아무도 없었다. 예루살렘의 원수들이 그를 보고 그의 몰락을 비웃었다.
8 예루살렘이 크게 죄를 지었기에 그가 불결하게 됐다. 그의 벌거벗은 것을 보았기 때문에 그를 존경하던 모든 사람들이 그를 경멸한다. 그가 스스로도 탄식하며 외면한다.
9 예루살렘의 불결함이 그의 치마에 있었는데 그는 자기의 미래에 대해 아무런 생각을 하지 않았다. 그러므로 그의 몰락은 깜짝 놀랄 만하다. 그를 위로해 주는 사람이 아무도 없다. "여호와여, 내 환난을 보십시오. 이는 대적이 승리했기 때문입니다."
10 예루살렘의 모든 보물 위에 대적이 손을 뻗쳤습니다. 주의 성소에 들어가는 민족들을 그가 보았습니다. 그들은 주의 회중에 들어오지 못하게 주께서 명령하신 사람들입니다.
11 예루살렘의 모든 백성들이 빵을 찾으며 탄식합니다. 그들의 귀중품들을 먹을 것과 바꾸며 목숨을 유지합니다. "오 여호와여, 살펴보소서. 내가 경멸을 받나이다."
12 "지나가는 모든 사람들아, 너희가 살펴보라. 내게 가해진 내 고통과 같은 고통이 어디에 있는가? 여호와의 맹렬한 진노의 날에 여호와께서 내게 그 고통을 당하게 하셨다."
13 "주께서 높은 곳에서 불을 내려 불이 내 뼛속까지 사무치게 하셨다. 그분이 내 발에 그물을 펼쳐 나를 뒤로 물러가게 하셨다. 나를 황폐하게 해 온종일 기운이 없게 하셨다."
14 "내 죄들이 멍에로 묶여지고 그것들이 그분의 손으로 얽매어졌다. 그것들이 내 목에 얹어 놓이니 그분이 나를 힘쓰지 못하게 하셨다. 내가 당해 낼 수 없는 사람들의 손에 주께서 나를 넘기셨다."
15 "내 가운데 있는 내 모든 용사들을 주께서 거절하셨다. 그분이 나를 대적해서 군대를 소집해 내 젊은이들을 무너뜨리셨다. 주께서 처녀 딸 유다의 딸을 포도주 틀을 밟듯 밟으셨다."
16 "이것들 때문에 내가 우니 내 눈에서 눈물이 물같이 흐른다. 이는 나를 위로할 사람, 내 영혼을 회복시킬 사람이 내게서 멀리 떨어져 있기 때문이다. 내 자식들이 황폐하니 이는 대적들이 이겼기 때문이다."
17 시온이 손을 뻗지만 그를 위로할 사람이 아무도 없다. 그의 이웃들이 그의 적이 될 것이라고 여호와께서 야곱을 향해 명령하셨다. 그들 가운데서 예루살렘이 불결하게 됐다.
18 "여호와께서는 의로우시나 내가 그분의 명령을 거역했다. 모든 민족들이여, 들으라. 내 환난을 보라. 내 처녀들과 젊은이들이 포로로 끌려가고 말았다."
19 "내가 내 사랑하는 사람들을 불렀지만 그들은 나를 속였다. 내 제사장들과 내 장로들이 목숨을 유지하려고 먹을 것을 찾아다니다가 성읍 안에서 죽었다."
20 "여호와여, 보십시오! 내가 고통 가운데 있고 내 내장이 끓어오릅니다. 내 마음이 내 속에서 뒤집히는 것은 내가 크게 반역을 했기 때문입니다. 밖에는 칼의 살육이 있고 집 안에는 죽음이 있습니다."
21 "내가 탄식하는 것을 그들이 듣지만 나를 위로할 사람이 아무도 없습니다. 내 모든 대적들이 내 고통 소리를 듣고 주께서 그렇게 하신 것을 즐거워하고 있습니다. 주께서 선포하신 그날이 오게 하셔서 그들도 나처럼 되게 하소서."
22 "그들의 모든 죄악들이 주 앞에 드러나게 하소서. 내 모든 죄악으로 인해 주께서 내게 하셨듯이 그들에게 해 주소서. 이는 내 탄식이 많고 내 마음이 기절할 지경이기 때문입니다."

[Lamentations 1:1-22, NLT]
1 Jerusalem, once so full of people, is now deserted. She who was once great among the nations now sits alone like a widow. Once the queen of all the earth, she is now a slave.
2 She sobs through the night; tears stream down her cheeks. Among all her lovers, there is no one left to comfort her. All her friends have betrayed her and become her enemies.
3 Judah has been led away into captivity, oppressed with cruel slavery. She lives among foreign nations and has no place of rest. Her enemies have chased her down, and she has nowhere to turn.
4 The roads to Jerusalem are in mourning, for crowds no longer come to celebrate the festivals. The city gates are silent, her priests groan, her young women are crying— how bitter is her fate!
5 Her oppressors have become her masters, and her enemies prosper, for the LORD has punished Jerusalem for her many sins. Her children have been captured and taken away to distant lands.
6 All the majesty of beautiful Jerusalem has been stripped away. Her princes are like starving deer searching for pasture. They are too weak to run from the pursuing enemy.
7 In the midst of her sadness and wandering, Jerusalem remembers her ancient splendor. But now she has fallen to her enemy, and there is no one to help her. Her enemy struck her down and laughed as she fell.
8 Jerusalem has sinned greatly, so she has been tossed away like a filthy rag. All who once honored her now despise her, for they have seen her stripped naked and humiliated. All she can do is groan and hide her face.
9 She defiled herself with immorality and gave no thought to her future. Now she lies in the gutter with no one to lift her out. "LORD, see my misery," she cries. "The enemy has triumphed."
10 The enemy has plundered her completely, taking every precious thing she owns. She has seen foreigners violate her sacred Temple, the place the LORD had forbidden them to enter.
11 Her people groan as they search for bread. They have sold their treasures for food to stay alive. "O LORD, look," she mourns, "and see how I am despised.
12 "Does it mean nothing to you, all you who pass by? Look around and see if there is any suffering like mine, which the LORD brought on me when he erupted in fierce anger.
13 "He has sent fire from heaven that burns in my bones. He has placed a trap in my path and turned me back. He has left me devastated, racked with sickness all day long.
14 "He wove my sins into ropes to hitch me to a yoke of captivity. The Lord sapped my strength and turned me over to my enemies; I am helpless in their hands.
15 "The Lord has treated my mighty men with contempt. At his command a great army has come to crush my young warriors. The Lord has trampled his beloved city like grapes are trampled in a winepress.
16 "For all these things I weep; tears flow down my cheeks. No one is here to comfort me; any who might encourage me are far away. My children have no future, for the enemy has conquered us."
17 Jerusalem reaches out for help, but no one comforts her. Regarding his people Israel, the LORD has said, "Let their neighbors be their enemies! Let them be thrown away like a filthy rag!"
18 "The LORD is right," Jerusalem says, "for I rebelled against him. Listen, people everywhere; look upon my anguish and despair, for my sons and daughters have been taken captive to distant lands.
19 "I begged my allies for help, but they betrayed me. My priests and leaders starved to death in the city, even as they searched for food to save their lives.
20 "LORD, see my anguish! My heart is broken and my soul despairs, for I have rebelled against you. In the streets the sword kills, and at home there is only death.
21 "Others heard my groans, but no one turned to comfort me. When my enemies heard about my troubles, they were happy to see what you had done. Oh, bring the day you promised, when they will suffer as I have suffered.
22 "Look at all their evil deeds, LORD. Punish them, as you have punished me for all my sins. My groans are many, and I am sick at heart."

1 주께서 어떻게 진노하셔서 딸 시온을 구름으로 덮어 버리셨는지! 그분이 이스라엘의 아름다움을 하늘에서 땅으로 던져 버리셨다. 그분의 진노의 날에 그분의 발판을 기억하지 않으셨다.
2 주께서 인정을 베풀지 않고 야곱의 모든 거처들을 삼켜 버리셨다. 그분의 진노 가운데서 딸 유다의 요새들을 무너뜨리셨다. 왕국과 관료들을 욕되게 땅에 내리치셨다.
3 그분의 맹렬한 분노로 이스라엘의 모든 뿔을 잘라 버리셨다. 원수 앞에서 그분의 오른손을 거두셨다. 활활 타는 불이 주위의 모든 것을 집어삼키듯이 야곱을 불태우셨다.
4 마치 대적처럼 그분은 활을 당기고 그분의 오른손은 준비돼 있다. 마치 적과 같이 눈에 즐거움을 주는 사람을 모두 죽이셨다. 불처럼 그분의 진노를 딸 시온의 장막에 쏟아부으셨다.
5 주께서 마치 원수같이 돼서 이스라엘을 집어삼키셨다. 이스라엘의 모든 성채들을 집어삼키시고 요새들을 파괴시키셨다. 딸 유다에게 애곡과 슬픔을 많게 하셨다.
6 마치 정원의 초막을 허무는 것처럼 주께서는 공회가 모이는 곳을 파괴하셨다. 여호와께서는 시온에서 정한 절기와 안식일이 잊혀지게 하셨다. 그분의 맹렬한 진노로 왕과 제사장을 쫓아내셨다.
7 주께서는 그분의 제단을 거부하셨고 그분의 성소를 버리셨다. 성채의 벽들을 원수의 손에 넘겨주셨다. 정해진 절기의 날처럼 대적들은 여호와의 집에서 소리를 질렀다.
8 딸 시온의 성벽을 여호와께서는 파괴하기로 작정하셨다. 그분은 줄자를 펼치셨고 파멸로부터 손을 거두지 않으셨다. 그분이 요새와 성벽을 슬퍼하게 하셨으니 그것들이 다 함께 쇠약해 버렸다.
9 성문들이 땅속으로 가라앉았고 주께서 빗장들을 깨뜨려 부수셨다. 왕과 관리들이 민족들 가운데 있으니 율법이 더 이상 존재하지 않는다. 예언자들도 여호와께로부터 환상을 받지 못하게 됐다.
10 딸 시온의 장로들은 땅바닥에 앉아서 말이 없다. 그들은 머리 위에 흙을 뿌리고 굵은베 옷을 입었다. 예루살렘의 처녀들은 땅바닥에 머리를 숙이고 있다.
11 내 눈이 눈물로 상하게 되고 내 내장이 끓어오른다. 내 간이 땅에 쏟아져 나왔으니 이는 딸 내 백성이 멸망했기 때문이다. 이는 내 자식들과 아기들이 성읍의 광장들에서 기운을 잃고 있기 때문이다.
12 성읍의 광장에 마치 부상당한 사람처럼 쓰러져서 자기 어머니의 품 안에 그들의 생명을 쏟아붓고는 "곡식과 포도주는 어디 있나요?" 하며 그들의 어머니에게 말한다.
13 딸 예루살렘아, 내가 너를 어떻게 위로하겠느냐? 내가 너를 무엇에 비교하겠느냐? 처녀 딸 시온아, 내가 너를 무엇에 비유해 위로하겠느냐? 네 상처가 바다처럼 큰데 누가 너를 치료해 주겠느냐?
14 네 예언자들이 너를 위해 거짓되고 헛된 것을 환상으로 보았다. 그들은 네가 포로 되는 것을 막도록 네 죄악을 드러내는 일을 하지 못했다. 네게 거짓된 말과 현혹시키는 예언만 했다.
15 지나가는 사람들이 모두 너를 보고 손뼉을 친다. 딸 예루살렘을 보고 그들이 비웃으며 머리를 흔든다. "이것이 아름다움의 완성이라고 불리고 온 세상의 기쁨이라고 불리던 성읍인가?"
16 네 원수들이 모두 너를 향해 그들의 입을 크게 벌렸다. 그들이 조롱하고 이를 갈며 말한다. "우리가 성읍을 집어삼켰다. 이날은 진정 우리가 기다리던 날이다. 우리가 이것을 찾았고 또 보았다."
17 여호와께서 계획하신 대로 하셨고 오래전에 그분이 명령하신 말씀을 이루셨다. 그분은 헐어 무너뜨리고 긍휼히 여기지 않으셨다. 대적들이 너를 보고 즐거워하게 하셨고 네 적들의 뿔을 높이셨다.
18 그들의 마음이 주께 소리 질러 외쳤다. 딸 시온의 성벽아, 너는 밤낮으로 눈물을 강물처럼 흘려라. 안도의 숨을 쉬지 말고 네 눈을 쉬게 하지 마라.
19 밤이 시작되는 시각에 일어나 부르짖어라. 주 앞에서 네 마음을 물처럼 쏟아부어라. 모든 길 어귀에 배고파서 쓰러지는 네 어린 자녀들의 생명을 위해 네 손을 그를 향해 들어 올려라.
20 "여호와여, 보시고 고려해 주소서. 주께서 누구에게 이렇게 하셨습니까? 여자들이 자기 자식들을, 자기들의 귀여운 어린아이들을 먹어야만 하겠습니까? 제사장과 예언자가 주의 성소에서 죽임을 당해야만 하겠습니까?"
21 "젊은이와 늙은이가 함께 맨땅 길바닥에 드러누워 있습니다. 내 처녀들과 젊은이들이 칼에 맞아 쓰러졌습니다. 주의 진노의 날에 주께서 그들을 학살하시고 인정을 베풀지 않으시고 살육하셨습니다."
22 "마치 정해진 절기를 부르듯이 주께서는 사방에서 공포를 부르십니다. 여호와의 진노의 날에는 피할 사람도, 살아남을 사람도 없었습니다. 내가 돌보고 양육했던 사람들을 내 원수들이 멸망시켰습니다."

[Lamentations 2:1-22, NLT]
1 The Lord in his anger has cast a dark shadow over beautiful Jerusalem. The fairest of Israel's cities lies in the dust, thrown down from the heights of heaven. In his day of great anger, the Lord has shown no mercy even to his Temple.
2 Without mercy the Lord has destroyed every home in Israel. In his anger he has broken down the fortress walls of beautiful Jerusalem. He has brought them to the ground, dishonoring the kingdom and its rulers.
3 All the strength of Israel vanishes beneath his fierce anger. The Lord has withdrawn his protection as the enemy attacks. He consumes the whole land of Israel like a raging fire.
4 He bends his bow against his people, as though he were their enemy. His strength is used against them to kill their finest youth. His fury is poured out like fire on beautiful Jerusalem.
5 Yes, the Lord has vanquished Israel like an enemy. He has destroyed her palaces and demolished her fortresses. He has brought unending sorrow and tears upon beautiful Jerusalem.
6 He has broken down his Temple as though it were merely a garden shelter. The LORD has blotted out all memory of the holy festivals and Sabbath days. Kings and priests fall together before his fierce anger.
7 The Lord has rejected his own altar; he despises his own sanctuary. He has given Jerusalem's palaces to her enemies. They shout in the LORD's Temple as though it were a day of celebration.
8 The LORD was determined to destroy the walls of beautiful Jerusalem. He made careful plans for their destruction, then did what he had planned. Therefore, the ramparts and walls have fallen down before him.
9 Jerusalem's gates have sunk into the ground. He has smashed their locks and bars. Her kings and princes have been exiled to distant lands; her law has ceased to exist. Her prophets receive no more visions from the LORD.
10 The leaders of beautiful Jerusalem sit on the ground in silence. They are clothed in burlap and throw dust on their heads. The young women of Jerusalem hang their heads in shame.
11 I have cried until the tears no longer come; my heart is broken. My spirit is poured out in agony as I see the desperate plight of my people. Little children and tiny babies are fainting and dying in the streets.
12 They cry out to their mothers, "We need food and drink!" Their lives ebb away in the streets like the life of a warrior wounded in battle. They gasp for life as they collapse in their mothers' arms.
13 What can I say about you? Who has ever seen such sorrow? O daughter of Jerusalem, to what can I compare your anguish? O virgin daughter of Zion, how can I comfort you? For your wound is as deep as the sea. Who can heal you?
14 Your prophets have said so many foolish things, false to the core. They did not save you from exile by pointing out your sins. Instead, they painted false pictures, filling you with false hope.
15 All who pass by jeer at you. They scoff and insult beautiful Jerusalem, saying, "Is this the city called 'Most Beautiful in All the World' and 'Joy of All the Earth'?"
16 All your enemies mock you. They scoff and snarl and say, "We have destroyed her at last! We have long waited for this day, and it is finally here!"
17 But it is the LORD who did just as he planned. He has fulfilled the promises of disaster he made long ago. He has destroyed Jerusalem without mercy. He has caused her enemies to gloat over her and has given them power over her.
18 Cry aloud before the Lord, O walls of beautiful Jerusalem! Let your tears flow like a river day and night. Give yourselves no rest; give your eyes no relief.
19 Rise during the night and cry out. Pour out your hearts like water to the Lord. Lift up your hands to him in prayer, pleading for your children, for in every street they are faint with hunger.
20 "O LORD, think about this! Should you treat your own people this way? Should mothers eat their own children, those they once bounced on their knees? Should priests and prophets be killed within the Lord's Temple?
21 "See them lying in the streets— young and old, boys and girls, killed by the swords of the enemy. You have killed them in your anger, slaughtering them without mercy.
22 "You have invited terrors from all around, as though you were calling them to a day of feasting. In the day of the LORD's anger, no one has escaped or survived. The enemy has killed all the children whom I carried and raised."






멸망한 예루살렘을 보며 예레미야는 눈물에 눈이 상할 정도로 울며 통곡합 니다. 예루살렘의 멸망은 이미 레위기 26장에서 말씀하신 제사장 나라 경영
3단계 징계에 따른 것이기에 예레미야는 통곡하는 일 외에는 더 이상 할 수 있는 일이 없었습니다. 그러나 그 순간 하나님께서는 예레미야와 함께 애통 해하셨고, 예루살렘을 향한 원수들의 비웃음과 조롱을 함께 받으셨습니다. “내 눈이 눈물에 상하며 내 창자가 끊어지며 내 간이 땅에 쏟아졌으니”(11절) 라는 예레미야의 외침은 과장된 표현이 아니라, 예루살렘을 바라보는 하나님의 진심이었습니다.
우리가 사는 이 세대는 갈수록 죄악이 관영해갑니다. 그래서 이 세대를 바라보시는 우리 하나님의 마음이 그 옛날 예레미야 시절과 크게 다르지 않으리라 생각합니다. 바라기는 이 세대에 예레미야와 같이 하나님의 마음을 알고 그 마음을 품고, 눈물로 이 세대를 끌어안을 수 있는 믿음의 사람이 많아 지기를 소망합니다.

예레미야의 눈물과 고통은 예레미야의 입술에 담긴 하나님의 고통이며 하나님의 눈물입니다.

기쁨 속에서만이 아니라 슬픔 속에서도 함께하시는 하나님께 감사합니다. 예레미야처럼 시대의 죄악과 아픔을 끌어안고 눈물로 간구하는 기도의 사람이 되게 해주세요.
