[겔38:1-23, 우리말성경]
1 여호와의 말씀이 내게 임해 말씀하셨다.
2 "사람아, 너는 얼굴을 마곡 땅에 있는 곡, 곧 로스와 메섹과 두발의 왕에게로 향하고 그에 대해 예언해
3 말하여라. '주 여호와가 이렇게 말한다. 로스와 메섹과 두발의 왕인 곡아, 나는 너를 대적한다.
4 내가 너를 돌려 세우고 네 턱에 갈고리를 끼워서 너와 네 모든 군대와 말들과 완벽하게 무장한 기마병들과 크고 작은 방패를 잡고 칼을 휘두르는 큰 무리를 이끌어 낼 것이다.
5 페르시아와 에티오피아와 붓이 모두 방패를 들고 투구를 쓴 채 그들과 함께할 것이고
6 고멜과 그의 모든 군대와 멀리 북쪽으로부터 도갈마 족속과 그의 모든 군대 등 많은 백성들이 너와 함께할 것이다.
7 너와 네 주위에 모인 네 모든 무리는 각오하고 준비하여라. 너는 그들의 지휘관이 돼라.
8 여러 날 후에 너는 무장하라는 명령을 받을 것이다. 여러 해가 지난 후에 칼로부터 회복된 땅, 여러 민족들이 떠난 후 오랫동안 폐허가 됐던 이스라엘의 산지에 다시 세운 나라를 네가 공격하게 될 것이다. 그들은 다른 민족들과 살다 돌아온 뒤에 모두 안심하고 살고 있다.
9 너는 네 모든 군대와 너와 함께 있는 많은 백성들과 더불어 마치 폭풍이 오는 것처럼 올라올 것이며 너는 땅을 덮는 구름과 같을 것이다.'"
10 "'주 여호와가 이렇게 말한다. 그날에 네 마음속에 여러 가지 생각이 떠올라서 너는 악한 계획을 도모할 것이다.
11 너는 말할 것이다. '내가 저 성벽 없는 땅을 공격할 것이다. 모두가 울타리도 없고 창살도 없고 대문도 없이 안심하며 평화롭게 살고 있는 사람들을 침략할 것이다.
12 물건을 약탈하고 노략질하며 다시 사람이 살게 된 그 폐허된 곳과 여러 민족들에게 흩어져 있다가 다시 모여들어서 가축과 재물을 얻고 그 땅의 중심에 살고 있는 저 백성에게 손을 뻗으려고 한다.'
13 스바와 드단과 다시스의 상인들과 그의 모든 성읍들은 네게 말할 것이다. '네가 약탈하러 왔느냐? 네가 네 무리를 모은 것이 노략질하고 은과 금을 가져가고 가축과 물건을 빼앗고 많은 전리품을 얻으려고 한 것이냐?'
14 그러므로 사람아, 예언하여라. 곡에게 말하여라. '주 여호와가 이렇게 말한다. 그날에 내 백성 이스라엘이 안심하고 살고 있을 때 네가 그것을 알지 못하겠느냐?
15 네가 살고 있는 북쪽으로부터 너는 많은 백성들과 함께 올 것이다. 너희들은 모두 말을 타는 큰 무리로 강한 군대다.
16 네가 내 백성 이스라엘을 공격하니 구름같이 땅을 덮을 것이다. 곡아, 훗날에 나는 너로 하여금 내 땅을 침략하게 할 것이다. 내가 그들 눈앞에서 너를 통해 내 거룩함을 드러낼 때 저 민족들로 하여금 나를 알게 하려는 것이다.
17 나 주 여호와가 이렇게 말한다. 내가 이전에 내 종인 이스라엘의 예언자들을 통해 말한 이가 네가 아니냐? 이스라엘을 치기 위해 내가 너를 보낼 것이라고 그들은 여러 해 동안 예언했었다.
18 주 여호와의 말이다. 그날에 곡이 이스라엘 땅을 치러 오면 내 진노가 내 얼굴에 나타날 것이다.
19 열정과 불타는 진노로 나는 말한다. 그날에 분명 이스라엘 땅에 큰 지진이 있을 것이다.
20 바다의 물고기와 공중의 새와 들판의 짐승과 땅 위에 기어 다니는 모든 것들과 땅 표면에 있는 모든 사람은 내 앞에서 두려움으로 떨 것이다. 산들이 무너지고 절벽들이 넘어지며 모든 성벽이 땅에 쓰러질 것이다.
21 내가 곡을 대적해서 내 모든 산에서 칼을 부를 것이다. 주 여호와의 말이다. 각 사람은 칼로 자기 형제를 칠 것이다.
22 나는 전염병과 피로써 그를 심판할 것이다. 내가 폭우와 큰 우박과 불과 유황을 그와 그의 군대와 그와 함께한 많은 백성들 위에 넘치게 할 것이다.
23 이렇게 나는 내 위대함과 내 거룩함을 드러내어 많은 민족들이 보는 앞에서 나를 알릴 것이다. 그러면 내가 여호와임을 그들은 알게 될 것이다.'"

[Ezekiel 38:1-23, NLT]
1 This is another message that came to me from the LORD:
2 "Son of man, turn and face Gog of the land of Magog, the prince who rules over the nations of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him.
3 Give him this message from the Sovereign LORD: Gog, I am your enemy!
4 I will turn you around and put hooks in your jaws to lead you out with your whole army—your horses and charioteers in full armor and a great horde armed with shields and swords.
5 Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya will join you, too, with all their weapons.
6 Gomer and all its armies will also join you, along with the armies of Beth-togarmah from the distant north, and many others.
7 "Get ready; be prepared! Keep all the armies around you mobilized, and take command of them.
8 A long time from now you will be called into action. In the distant future you will swoop down on the land of Israel, which will be enjoying peace after recovering from war and after its people have returned from many lands to the mountains of Israel.
9 You and all your allies—a vast and awesome army—will roll down on them like a storm and cover the land like a cloud.
10 "This is what the Sovereign LORD says: At that time evil thoughts will come to your mind, and you will devise a wicked scheme.
11 You will say, 'Israel is an unprotected land filled with unwalled villages! I will march against her and destroy these people who live in such confidence!
12 I will go to those formerly desolate cities that are now filled with people who have returned from exile in many nations. I will capture vast amounts of plunder, for the people are rich with livestock and other possessions now. They think the whole world revolves around them!'
13 But Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of Tarshish will ask, 'Do you really think the armies you have gathered can rob them of silver and gold? Do you think you can drive away their livestock and seize their goods and carry off plunder?'
14 "Therefore, son of man, prophesy against Gog. Give him this message from the Sovereign LORD: When my people are living in peace in their land, then you will rouse yourself.
15 You will come from your homeland in the distant north with your vast cavalry and your mighty army,
16 and you will attack my people Israel, covering their land like a cloud. At that time in the distant future, I will bring you against my land as everyone watches, and my holiness will be displayed by what happens to you, Gog. Then all the nations will know that I am the LORD.
17 "This is what the Sovereign LORD asks: Are you the one I was talking about long ago, when I announced through Israel's prophets that in the future I would bring you against my people?
18 But this is what the Sovereign LORD says: When Gog invades the land of Israel, my fury will boil over!
19 In my jealousy and blazing anger, I promise a mighty shaking in the land of Israel on that day.
20 All living things—the fish in the sea, the birds of the sky, the animals of the field, the small animals that scurry along the ground, and all the people on earth—will quake in terror at my presence. Mountains will be thrown down; cliffs will crumble; walls will fall to the earth.
21 I will summon the sword against you on all the hills of Israel, says the Sovereign LORD. Your men will turn their swords against each other.
22 I will punish you and your armies with disease and bloodshed; I will send torrential rain, hailstones, fire, and burning sulfur!
23 In this way, I will show my greatness and holiness, and I will make myself known to all the nations of the world. Then they will know that I am the LORD.





[겔39:1-29, 우리말성경]
1 "너 사람아, 곡을 대적해 예언하며 말하여라. '주 여호와가 이렇게 말한다. 로스와 메섹과 두발 왕 곡아, 내가 너를 대적한다.
2 내가 너를 돌려 세우며 이끌고 올 것이다. 그리고 멀리 북쪽에서 데려와 너로 하여금 이스라엘의 산들을 공격하게 할 것이다.
3 그리고 내가 네 왼손에 있는 활을 꺾고 네 오른손에 있는 화살을 떨어뜨릴 것이다.
4 너와 함께한 네 모든 군대와 백성들과 더불어 너는 이스라엘의 산들 위에 쓰러질 것이다. 내가 너를 온갖 종류의 사나운 새들과 들판의 짐승들에게 먹이로 줄 것이다.
5 너는 들판 위에 쓰러질 것이다. 내가 말했다. 주 여호와의 말이다.
6 내가 마곡에게 또 해안 지역에서 안심하고 살고 있는 사람들에게 불을 보낼 것이니 내가 여호와임을 그들은 알게 될 것이다.
7 내가 내 백성 이스라엘 가운데 내 거룩한 이름을 알리고 내 거룩한 이름이 더 이상 모독당하지 않게 할 것이다. 그러면 내가 여호와, 이스라엘의 거룩한 이임을 저 민족들은 알게 될 것이다.
8 때가 오고 있으니 이뤄질 것이다. 나 주 여호와의 말이다. 이날이 바로 내가 말한 그날이다.
9 그러면 이스라엘의 여러 성읍들에 사는 사람들이 나와서 큰 방패와 작은 방패, 활과 화살, 전투용 곤봉과 창과 같은 무기에 불을 붙여서 태워 버릴 것이다. 그들은 그것들로 7년 동안 불태울 것이다.
10 그들이 그 무기를 불태울 것이기 때문에 그들은 들판에서 나무를 모으거나 숲에서 나무를 베어 내지 않을 것이다. 그리고 그들의 것을 약탈해 간 사람들을 약탈할 것이고 그들의 것을 노략질한 사람들의 것을 노략질할 것이다. 나 주 여호와의 말이다.

14 그 땅을 깨끗하게 하기 위해 그들은 계속해서 사람들을 고용해서 그 땅을 돌아다니며 땅 위에 남아 있는 것들을 매장할 것이다. 7개월이 끝날 때 그들은 수색을 시작할 것이다.
15 수색하는 사람들은 그 땅을 돌아다니다가 그 가운데 한 사람이 사람의 뼈를 보게 되면 그는 그 옆에 푯말을 세울 것이며 매장하는 사람들은 그것을 하몬곡 골짜기에다 매장할 것이다.
16 그 성읍의 이름 또한 하모나라고 할 것이다. 이렇게 그들은 그 땅을 깨끗하게 할 것이다.'
17 사람아, 나 주 여호와가 이렇게 말한다. 너는 각종 새와 모든 들짐승에게 이렇게 말하여라. '너희는 사방에서 모여 내가 너희를 위해 준비한 내 희생제사, 곧 이스라엘 산들 위에서 있을 큰 희생제사에 오라. 그곳에서 너희는 고기를 먹고 피를 마실 것이다.
18 숫양과 어린양과 염소와 황소와 같은 바산의 살진 짐승들을 먹듯이 너희가 용사들의 살을 먹고 그 땅 왕들의 피를 마실 것이다.
19 내가 너희를 위해 준비한 희생제사에서 너희는 기름을 배불리 먹고 피를 취할 때까지 마실 것이다.
20 너희는 내 식탁에서 말과 기마병과 용사들과 모든 군사들과 함께 배불리 먹을 것이다. 주 여호와의 말이다.'
21 내가 저 민족들 가운데 내 영광을 드러낼 것이니 내가 행한 내 심판과 그들 위에 얹은 내 손을 모든 민족이 보게 될 것이다.
22 그러면 그날 이후에 내가 그들의 하나님 여호와임을 이스라엘 족속은 알게 될 것이다.
23 그리고 이스라엘의 족속이 내게 신실하지 못했기 때문에 그들의 죄로 인해 그들이 포로로 잡혀갔음을 이방 사람들이 알게 될 것이다. 내가 그들에게 내 얼굴을 가렸다. 내가 그들을 원수들의 손에 넘겨줘서 그들은 모두 칼로 쓰러지게 된 것이다.
24 나는 그들의 부정과 그들의 범죄에 따라 그들을 대했다. 나는 그들에게서 내 얼굴을 가렸다.
25 그러므로 나 주 여호와가 이렇게 말한다. 내가 이제 야곱의 포로 된 사람들을 돌아오게 하고 이스라엘 족속 모두를 긍휼히 여길 것이며 내 거룩한 이름을 위해 열정을 다 할 것이다.
26 그러면 그들은 그들의 땅에서 안심하며 살고 그들에게 두려움을 주는 사람이 없을 때 그들의 수치와 그들이 내게 신실하지 못했던 모든 배신을 감당하게 될 것이다.
27 내가 족속들로부터 그들을 돌아오게 하고 원수들의 땅들에서 내가 그들을 불러 모아서 많은 민족들이 보는 앞에서 그들을 통해 내 거룩함을 드러낼 때
28 내가 그들의 하나님 여호와임을 그들은 알게 될 것이다. 내가 그들을 민족들의 포로로 보냈지만 내가 그들을 그들의 땅으로 불러 모아서 그들 가운데 어느 누구도 그곳에 더 이상 남아 있게 하지 않을 것이다.
29 나는 더 이상 내 얼굴을 그들에게서 가리지 않을 것이다. 내가 내 영을 이스라엘 족속에게 부어 주었기 때문이다. 주 여호와의 말이다."

[Ezekiel 39:1-29, NLT]
1 "Son of man, prophesy against Gog. Give him this message from the Sovereign LORD: I am your enemy, O Gog, ruler of the nations of Meshech and Tubal.
2 I will turn you around and drive you toward the mountains of Israel, bringing you from the distant north.
3 I will knock the bow from your left hand and the arrows from your right hand, and I will leave you helpless.
4 You and your army and your allies will all die on the mountains. I will feed you to the vultures and wild animals.
5 You will fall in the open fields, for I have spoken, says the Sovereign LORD.
6 And I will rain down fire on Magog and on all your allies who live safely on the coasts. Then they will know that I am the LORD.
7 "In this way, I will make known my holy name among my people of Israel. I will not let anyone bring shame on it. And the nations, too, will know that I am the LORD, the Holy One of Israel.
8 That day of judgment will come, says the Sovereign LORD. Everything will happen just as I have declared it.
9 "Then the people in the towns of Israel will go out and pick up your small and large shields, bows and arrows, javelins and spears, and they will use them for fuel. There will be enough to last them seven years!
10 They won't need to cut wood from the fields or forests, for these weapons will give them all the fuel they need. They will plunder those who planned to plunder them, and they will rob those who planned to rob them, says the Sovereign LORD.
11 "And I will make a vast graveyard for Gog and his hordes in the Valley of the Travelers, east of the Dead Sea. It will block the way of those who travel there, and they will change the name of the place to the Valley of Gog's Hordes.
12 It will take seven months for the people of Israel to bury the bodies and cleanse the land.
13 Everyone in Israel will help, for it will be a glorious victory for Israel when I demonstrate my glory on that day, says the Sovereign LORD.
14 "After seven months, teams of men will be appointed to search the land for skeletons to bury, so the land will be made clean again.
15 Whenever bones are found, a marker will be set up so the burial crews will take them to be buried in the Valley of Gog's Hordes.
16 (There will be a town there named Hamonah, which means 'horde.') And so the land will finally be cleansed.
17 "And now, son of man, this is what the Sovereign LORD says: Call all the birds and wild animals. Say to them: Gather together for my great sacrificial feast. Come from far and near to the mountains of Israel, and there eat flesh and drink blood!
18 Eat the flesh of mighty men and drink the blood of princes as though they were rams, lambs, goats, and bulls—all fattened animals from Bashan!
19 Gorge yourselves with flesh until you are glutted; drink blood until you are drunk. This is the sacrificial feast I have prepared for you.
20 Feast at my banquet table—feast on horses and charioteers, on mighty men and all kinds of valiant warriors, says the Sovereign LORD.
21 "In this way, I will demonstrate my glory to the nations. Everyone will see the punishment I have inflicted on them and the power of my fist when I strike.
22 And from that time on the people of Israel will know that I am the LORD their God.
23 The nations will then know why Israel was sent away to exile—it was punishment for sin, for they were unfaithful to their God. Therefore, I turned away from them and let their enemies destroy them.
24 I turned my face away and punished them because of their defilement and their sins.
25 "So now, this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will end the captivity of my people; I will have mercy on all Israel, for I jealously guard my holy reputation!
26 They will accept responsibility for their past shame and unfaithfulness after they come home to live in peace in their own land, with no one to bother them.
27 When I bring them home from the lands of their enemies, I will display my holiness among them for all the nations to see.
28 Then my people will know that I am the LORD their God, because I sent them away to exile and brought them home again. I will leave none of my people behind.
29 And I will never again turn my face from them, for I will pour out my Spirit upon the people of Israel. I, the Sovereign LORD, have spoken!"








곡 연합군이 이스라엘 땅을 침략합니다. 전쟁의 규모도 대단하지만 친히 하나님께서 싸우신다는 것이 더욱 놀랍습니다. 하나님께서는 온갖 재앙을 내리시며 그 대단했던 곡의 연합군을 참패하게 하셔서 하몬곡 골짜기에 묻히게 하십니다. 죽은 자의 수가 너무 많아 7개월에 걸쳐 매장할 정도입니다. 하나님께서 곡 연합군을 친히 무찔러 주심으로 온 열방에 하나님의 영광이 드러나게 하시며 그 땅을 정결하게 하십니다.
곡 연합군과의 전쟁 환상은 바벨론 포로로 지내며 절망에 빠져 있는 남유다 백성들에게 마른 뼈 환상만큼이나 큰 힘과 위로가 될 것입니다. 하나님의 개입으로 엄청난 전쟁에서 놀랍게 승리한다는 희망은, 무력해 보이기만 한 자신들을 바라보지 않고 하나님을 바라보게 만들 것입니다. 하나님의 계획은 “다시는 내 얼굴을 그들에게 가리지 아니하리니”(겔 39:29)입니다. 곧 이스라엘을 온전히 회복되게 하셔서 다시 제사장 나라로 서게 하실 것입니다.

곡의 연합군을 심판하심으로 하나님께서는 영광을 받으실 것입니다.

우리를 향한 하나님의 계획과 약속을 바라보며, 어떤 위험과 어려움도 물리칠 수 있다는 담대한 믿음으로 나아가겠습니다. 우리를 구원하시는 하나님을 찬양합니다.
