[겔40:1-49, 우리말성경]
1 우리가 포로 된 지 25년째 되는 해, 성읍이 파괴된 지 14년째 되는 해, 그해 첫째 달 10일 바로 그날 여호와의 손이 내 위에 있어 그분께서 나를 그곳에 데려가셨다.
2 환상 속에서 하나님께서는 나를 이스라엘 땅으로 데려가 아주 높은 산 위에 세우셨는데 그곳 남쪽으로는 성읍처럼 생긴 건물이 있었다.
3 그분께서 나를 그곳에 데려가셨는데 청동같이 빛나는 한 사람이 있는 것을 보았다. 그는 모시로 만든 줄과 길이를 재는 막대기를 자신의 손에 들고 성문에 서 있었다.
4 그 사람이 내게 말했다. "사람아, 네 눈으로 보고 네 귀로 들으며 내가 네게 보여 줄 모든 것을 마음에 새겨라. 내가 이것을 네게 보여 주려고 너를 여기에 데려왔다. 그러니 너는 네가 보는 모든 것을 이스라엘 족속에게 선포하여라."
5 내가 보니 성전 밖으로 빙 둘러서 벽으로 싸여 있었다. 그 사람의 손에는 길이를 재는 막대기가 들려 있었는데 그것의 길이는 보통 자의 1규빗에다가 한 뼘 더한 길이를 1규빗으로 했을 때 6규빗이었다. 그는 그 벽을 쟀는데 두께도 높이도 그 막대기 하나와 같았다.
6 그리고 그는 동쪽 방향으로 향하고 있는 문으로 갔다. 그가 계단을 올라가 한 문턱을 쟀더니 그 길이는 막대기 하나였고 다른 문턱도 그 길이가 막대기 하나였다.
7 문지기 방은 그 길이와 너비가 막대기 하나였고 그 방들 사이는 5규빗이었다. 그 문턱은 너비가 막대기 하나였고 들어서면 현관이 있고 안쪽 문이 있었다.
8 그가 안쪽 문의 현관을 쟀더니 그 너비는 막대기 하나였다.
9 그가 그 문의 현관을 쟀더니 8규빗이었고 문기둥들은 두께가 2규빗이었다. 그 문의 현관은 안쪽에 있었다.
10 동쪽 방향의 문 안쪽으로는 문지기 방이 오른쪽, 왼쪽에 각각 세 개씩 있었다. 세 방 모두 크기가 같고 문기둥도 양쪽이 다 같은 크기였다.
11 그가 문의 출입구의 너비를 쟀는데 10규빗이었고 문의 길이가 13규빗이었다.
12 각 방 앞에는 칸막이가 있었는데 양쪽 다 1규빗씩이었고 그 방들은 한쪽이 6규빗, 또 한쪽도 6규빗이었다.
13 그리고 그는 이쪽 방 지붕 끝에서 반대쪽 방 지붕 끝까지를 쟀다. 그 너비는 25규빗이었고 방문은 서로 마주 보고 있었다.
14 그가 현관을 쟀더니 너비가 20규빗이었다. 문 주위와 문기둥까지는 다 안뜰이었다.
15 출입구 문 앞에서 안쪽 문 현관 앞까지는 50규빗이었다.
16 문지기 방과 출입구 안쪽 벽에 각각 좁은 창이 있고 그 현관에도 창이 있었다. 그 창들은 안쪽을 향해 죽 둘려 있었고 각각의 문기둥에는 종려나무가 새겨져 있었다.
17 그리고 그는 나를 바깥뜰로 데리고 들어갔다. 바깥뜰에는 방들이 있고 그 뜰 전체를 둘러 바닥이 포장돼 있었다. 그 포장된 바닥을 따라서 30개의 방이 있었다.
18 그 포장은 문 양옆으로 죽 이어져 그 길이는 문의 통로와 같았다. 이것이 아래쪽 길이었다.
19 그리고 그가 아래쪽 문 앞부터 안뜰 바깥 앞까지 너비를 쟀다. 그 길이가 동쪽이나 북쪽이나 똑같이 100규빗이었다.
20 바깥뜰에 북쪽 방향을 향해 문이 하나 있었는데 그가 그 길이와 너비를 쟀다.
21 양쪽에 세 개씩 있는 문지기 방과 문기둥과 현관은 이 전의 문과 크기가 같아 길이가 50규빗, 너비가 25규빗이었다.
22 그 창문과 현관과 종려나무 장식도 동쪽 방향으로 향한 문과 크기가 같았다. 일곱 개의 계단을 올라가면 그 앞에 현관이 있었다.
23 동쪽 문에서와 같이 안뜰 문이 북쪽 문 맞은편에 있었다. 그가 한쪽 문에서 다른 쪽 문까지를 쟀더니 100규빗이었다.
24 그러고 나서 그가 나를 남쪽으로 인도했는데 남쪽 방향으로 난 문이 보였다. 그가 그 문기둥과 현관을 쟀더니 먼저 잰 것들과 같았다.
25 그 안에 창문들이 나 있고 그 현관에도 창문들이 둘려 있었다. 그것도 다른 문들의 창문들과 같았다. 길이가 50규빗, 너비가 25규빗이었다.
26 일곱 개의 계단을 올라가면 문들이 있고 그 앞에 현관이 있으며 그 양쪽 문기둥에는 종려나무가 새겨져 있었다.
27 안뜰에 역시 남쪽 방향을 향해 난 문이 있었는데 그가 그 문에서 남쪽 방향을 향해 난 문까지를 쟀더니 100규빗이었다.
28 그리고 그는 남쪽 문을 통해 나를 안뜰로 데려갔다. 그가 남쪽 문을 쟀더니 먼저 잰 것들과 같았다.
29 문지기 방과 문기둥과 현관도 먼저 잰 것들과 같았다. 거기에도 창문들이 나 있었고 현관에도 창문들이 죽 둘려 있었다. 길이가 50규빗, 너비가 25규빗이었다.
30 둘러서 있는 현관들은 길이가 25규빗, 너비가 5규빗이었다.
31 그 현관은 바깥뜰을 향해 있었고 그 문기둥에는 종려나무가 새겨져 있었으며 그곳으로 가려면 여덟 개의 계단을 올라야 했다.
32 그리고 그는 나를 안뜰 동쪽 방향으로 데리고 갔다. 그가 그 문을 쟀더니 먼저 잰 것들과 같았다.
33 문지기 방과 문기둥과 현관도 먼저 잰 것들과 같았다. 거기에도 창문들이 나 있었고 현관에도 창문들이 죽 둘려 있었다. 길이가 50규빗, 너비가 25규빗이었다.
34 현관은 바깥뜰을 향해 있었고 양쪽 문기둥에는 종려나무가 새겨져 있었다. 그곳으로 가려면 여덟 개의 계단을 올라야 했다.
35 그러고 나서 그는 나를 북쪽 문으로 데려가 그곳을 쟀다. 먼저 잰 것들과 같았다.
36 문지기 방, 문기둥, 현관, 그리고 둘러서 창문들이 나 있었다. 길이가 50규빗, 너비가 25규빗이었다.
37 그 문기둥들은 바깥뜰을 향해 있었고 양쪽 문기둥에는 종려나무가 새겨져 있었다. 그곳으로 가려면 여덟 개의 계단을 올라야 했다.
38 문들의 문기둥들 옆에는 출입문이 달린 방이 있었는데 그곳은 번제물을 씻는 곳이었다.
39 문의 현관에는 양쪽에 각각 탁자가 두 개씩 있었다. 그곳에서 번제물, 속죄제물과 속건제물을 잡았다.
40 바깥에서 북문 계단으로 올라오는 입구 양쪽에 탁자가 두 개씩 있었다.
41 이렇게 문 통로 이쪽에 네 개, 저쪽에 네 개, 이렇게 모두 여덟 개의 탁자가 있었고 그 위에서 희생제물들을 잡았다.
42 그리고 그곳에는 돌을 다듬어 만든 네 개의 번제용 탁자가 있었는데 그것은 각각 길이가 1.5규빗, 너비가 1.5규빗, 높이가 1규빗이었다. 그 위에는 번제물과 다른 희생제물들을 죽이는 데 쓰는 기구들을 놓아두었다.
43 그리고 방 안에는 한 뼘 정도 되는 갈고리들이 사면에 부착돼 있었고 탁자들 위에는 제물용 고기들이 놓여 있었다.
44 안뜰 안과 안쪽 문 밖에는 노래하는 사람들의 방들이 있었다. 하나는 북쪽 문에서 남쪽을 바라보고 있었고 다른 하나는 남쪽 문에서 북쪽을 바라보고 있었다.
45 그가 내게 말했다. "남쪽을 바라보고 있는 이 방은 성전 일을 맡은 제사장들이 사용하는 방이고
46 북쪽을 바라보고 있는 방은 제단 일을 맡은 제사장들이 사용하는 방이다. 그들은 사독의 자손들로 레위 자손이요, 여호와께 가까이 나아가 그분을 섬기는 사람들이다."
47 그리고 그는 성전 뜰을 쟀다. 그곳은 정사각형으로 길이가 100규빗, 너비가 100규빗이었다. 제단은 성전 앞에 있었다.
48 그는 나를 성전 현관으로 데려가서 현관의 문기둥을 쟀는데 이쪽이 5규빗, 저쪽도 5규빗이었다. 그 문의 너비는 이쪽이 3규빗, 저쪽도 3규빗이었다.
49 현관은 길이가 20규빗, 너비는 11규빗이었다. 현관으로 올라가는 계단이 있었고 문기둥 옆에는 기둥들이 있었는데 하나는 이쪽에, 하나는 저쪽에 있었다.

[Ezekiel 40:1-49, NLT]
1 On April 28, during the twenty-fifth year of our captivity—fourteen years after the fall of Jerusalem—the LORD took hold of me.
2 In a vision from God he took me to the land of Israel and set me down on a very high mountain. From there I could see toward the south what appeared to be a city.
3 As he brought me nearer, I saw a man whose face shone like bronze standing beside a gateway entrance. He was holding in his hand a linen measuring cord and a measuring rod.
4 He said to me, "Son of man, watch and listen. Pay close attention to everything I show you. You have been brought here so I can show you many things. Then you will return to the people of Israel and tell them everything you have seen."
5 I could see a wall completely surrounding the Temple area. The man took a measuring rod that was 10 1⁄2 feet long and measured the wall, and the wall was 10 1⁄2 feet thick and 10 1⁄2 feet high.
6 Then he went over to the eastern gateway. He climbed the steps and measured the threshold of the gateway; it was 10 1⁄2 feet front to back.
7 There were guard alcoves on each side built into the gateway passage. Each of these alcoves was 10 1⁄2 feet square, with a distance between them of 8 3⁄4 feet along the passage wall. The gateway's inner threshold, which led to the entry room at the inner end of the gateway passage, was 10 1⁄2 feet front to back.
8 He also measured the entry room of the gateway.
9 It was 14 feet across, with supporting columns 3 1⁄2 feet thick. This entry room was at the inner end of the gateway structure, facing toward the Temple.
10 There were three guard alcoves on each side of the gateway passage. Each had the same measurements, and the dividing walls separating them were also identical.
11 The man measured the gateway entrance, which was 17 1⁄2 feet wide at the opening and 22 3⁄4 feet wide in the gateway passage.
12 In front of each of the guard alcoves was a 21-inch curb. The alcoves themselves were 10 1⁄2 feet on each side.
13 Then he measured the entire width of the gateway, measuring the distance between the back walls of facing guard alcoves; this distance was 43 3⁄4 feet.
14 He measured the dividing walls all along the inside of the gateway up to the entry room of the gateway; this distance was 105 feet.
15 The full length of the gateway passage was 87 1⁄2 feet from one end to the other.
16 There were recessed windows that narrowed inward through the walls of the guard alcoves and their dividing walls. There were also windows in the entry room. The surfaces of the dividing walls were decorated with carved palm trees.
17 Then the man brought me through the gateway into the outer courtyard of the Temple. A stone pavement ran along the walls of the courtyard, and thirty rooms were built against the walls, opening onto the pavement.
18 This pavement flanked the gates and extended out from the walls into the courtyard the same distance as the gateway entrance. This was the lower pavement.
19 Then the man measured across the Temple's outer courtyard between the outer and inner gateways; the distance was 175 feet.
20 The man measured the gateway on the north just like the one on the east.
21 Here, too, there were three guard alcoves on each side, with dividing walls and an entry room. All the measurements matched those of the east gateway. The gateway passage was 87 1⁄2 feet long and 43 3⁄4 feet wide between the back walls of facing guard alcoves.
22 The windows, the entry room, and the palm tree decorations were identical to those in the east gateway. There were seven steps leading up to the gateway entrance, and the entry room was at the inner end of the gateway passage.
23 Here on the north side, just as on the east, there was another gateway leading to the Temple's inner courtyard directly opposite this outer gateway. The distance between the two gateways was 175 feet.
24 Then the man took me around to the south gateway and measured its various parts, and they were exactly the same as in the others.
25 It had windows along the walls as the others did, and there was an entry room where the gateway passage opened into the outer courtyard. And like the others, the gateway passage was 87 1⁄2 feet long and 43 3⁄4 feet wide between the back walls of facing guard alcoves.
26 This gateway also had a stairway of seven steps leading up to it, and an entry room at the inner end, and palm tree decorations along the dividing walls.
27 And here again, directly opposite the outer gateway, was another gateway that led into the inner courtyard. The distance between the two gateways was 175 feet.
28 Then the man took me to the south gateway leading into the inner courtyard. He measured it, and it had the same measurements as the other gateways.
29 Its guard alcoves, dividing walls, and entry room were the same size as those in the others. It also had windows along its walls and in the entry room. And like the others, the gateway passage was 87 1⁄2 feet long and 43 3⁄4 feet wide.
30 (The entry rooms of the gateways leading into the inner courtyard were 14 feet across and 43 3⁄4 feet wide.)
31 The entry room to the south gateway faced into the outer courtyard. It had palm tree decorations on its columns, and there were eight steps leading to its entrance.
32 Then he took me to the east gateway leading to the inner courtyard. He measured it, and it had the same measurements as the other gateways.
33 Its guard alcoves, dividing walls, and entry room were the same size as those of the others, and there were windows along the walls and in the entry room. The gateway passage measured 87 1⁄2 feet long and 43 3⁄4 feet wide.
34 Its entry room faced into the outer courtyard. It had palm tree decorations on its columns, and there were eight steps leading to its entrance.
35 Then he took me around to the north gateway leading to the inner courtyard. He measured it, and it had the same measurements as the other gateways.
36 The guard alcoves, dividing walls, and entry room of this gateway had the same measurements as in the others and the same window arrangements. The gateway passage measured 87 1⁄2 feet long and 43 3⁄4 feet wide.
37 Its entry room faced into the outer courtyard, and it had palm tree decorations on the columns. There were eight steps leading to its entrance.
38 A door led from the entry room of one of the inner gateways into a side room, where the meat for sacrifices was washed.
39 On each side of this entry room were two tables, where the sacrificial animals were slaughtered for the burnt offerings, sin offerings, and guilt offerings.
40 Outside the entry room, on each side of the stairs going up to the north entrance, were two more tables.
41 So there were eight tables in all—four inside and four outside—where the sacrifices were cut up and prepared.
42 There were also four tables of finished stone for preparation of the burnt offerings, each 31 1⁄2 inches square and 21 inches high. On these tables were placed the butchering knives and other implements for slaughtering the sacrificial animals.
43 There were hooks, each 3 inches long, fastened all around the foyer walls. The sacrificial meat was laid on the tables.
44 Inside the inner courtyard were two rooms, one beside the north gateway, facing south, and the other beside the south gateway, facing north.
45 And the man said to me, "The room beside the north inner gate is for the priests who supervise the Temple maintenance.
46 The room beside the south inner gate is for the priests in charge of the altar—the descendants of Zadok—for they alone of all the Levites may approach the LORD to minister to him."
47 Then the man measured the inner courtyard, and it was a square, 175 feet wide and 175 feet across. The altar stood in the courtyard in front of the Temple.
48 Then he brought me to the entry room of the Temple. He measured the walls on either side of the opening to the entry room, and they were 8 3⁄4 feet thick. The entrance itself was 24 1⁄2 feet wide, and the walls on each side of the entrance were an additional 5 1⁄4 feet long.
49 The entry room was 35 feet wide and 21 feet deep. There were ten steps leading up to it, with a column on each side.

1 그리고 그는 나를 성소로 데려갔다. 그러고는 그가 문기둥을 쟀는데 그 두께가 이쪽이 6규빗, 저쪽이 6규빗이었다.
2 문 입구는 너비가 10규빗이었고 문 양쪽 벽은 이쪽이 5규빗, 저쪽이 5규빗이었다. 그는 성소도 쟀는데 그 길이는 40규빗, 너비는 20규빗이었다.
3 그리고 그는 안으로 들어가서 문기둥을 쟀는데 2규빗이었고, 입구는 높이가 6규빗, 너비가 7규빗이었다.
4 그리고 그가 성소를 가로질러서 쟀더니 그 길이가 20규빗, 너비가 20규빗이었다. 그가 내게 말했다. "이곳은 지극히 거룩한 곳이다."

9 쪽방 바깥벽은 두께가 5규빗이었다. 성전의 쪽방 바깥으로는 빈터가 있었는데
10 방들 사이는 성전 주위로 삼면이 다 폭이 20규빗이 됐다.
11 그 쪽방들의 출입문은 다 뜰을 향해 있었는데 하나는 북쪽 방향을 향하고 하나는 남쪽을 향하고 있었다. 그리고 그 주위에 둘러 있는 뜰의 폭은 5규빗이었다.
12 서쪽 방향 성전 뜰 맞은편에 서 있는 건물은 너비가 70규빗이었고 그 건물 사면의 벽은 두께가 5규빗이며 그 길이는 90규빗이었다.
13 그리고 그는 성전을 쟀는데 길이는 100규빗이었고 서쪽 뜰은 그 건물과 벽까지 다 해서 길이가 100규빗이었다.
14 성전의 정면을 포함해서 동쪽 성전 뜰의 너비는 100규빗이었다.
15 그러고 나서 그는 뜰 뒤의 맞은편에 있는 건물의 길이를 쟀는데 그 양쪽 쪽방들을 포함해서 100규빗이었다. 이는 안쪽 성소와 뜰의 현관
16 문턱과 좁은 창문들을 포함한 것이다. 문턱 안에 세 층에 둘러 있는 쪽방은 땅에서 창문까지 나무판자를 댔고 창문들은 이미 가려져 있었다.
17 입구 위의 공간과 안쪽 성소까지, 바깥 그리고 성소의 안팎 주위에 둘러서 쳐진 벽도 그렇게 돼 있었다.
18 판자에는 그룹과 종려나무가 새겨져 있었고 종려나무는 그룹과 그룹 사이에 있었다. 그룹은 각각 두 얼굴을 가지고 있었다.
19 한쪽에는 종려나무를 향한 인간의 얼굴, 다른 쪽에는 종려나무를 향한 젊은 사자의 얼굴이 있었다. 그 모양은 성전 전체를 둘러가며 새겨져 있었다.
20 바닥에서부터 입구 위쪽 부분까지 그룹과 종려나무가 성소 벽 전체에 새겨져 있었다.
21 성전의 문기둥은 네모나게 생겼고 성소의 정면도 그렇게 생겼다.
22 나무로 된 제단은 높이가 3규빗, 길이가 2규빗이고 모서리와 길이와 옆면이 나무로 만들어졌다. 그 사람이 내게 말했다. "이것은 여호와 앞에 있는 탁자다."
23 성전과 성소에는 문이 두 개 있었는데
24 문마다 두 개의 문짝을 가지고 있었으며 두 개의 돌쩌귀가 달린 문짝들이었다. 이 문도 두 짝, 저 문도 두 짝이었다.
25 성전 문에도 벽에 새겨진 것 같은 그룹과 종려나무가 새겨져 있었고 성전 현관 밖의 정면에는 나무로 만든 디딤판이 있었다.
26 현관 양쪽에는 좁은 창틀이 있었고 종려나무가 새겨져 있었다. 성전의 쪽방에도, 디딤판 위에도 그렇게 돼 있었다.

1 After that, the man brought me into the sanctuary of the Temple. He measured the walls on either side of its doorway, and they were 10 1⁄2 feet thick.
2 The doorway was 17 1⁄2 feet wide, and the walls on each side of it were 8 3⁄4 feet long. The sanctuary itself was 70 feet long and 35 feet wide.
3 Then he went beyond the sanctuary into the inner room. He measured the walls on either side of its entrance, and they were 3 1⁄2 feet thick. The entrance was 10 1⁄2 feet wide, and the walls on each side of the entrance were 12 1⁄4 feet long.
4 The inner room of the sanctuary was 35 feet long and 35 feet wide. "This," he told me, "is the Most Holy Place."
5 Then he measured the wall of the Temple, and it was 10 1⁄2 feet thick. There was a row of rooms along the outside wall; each room was 7 feet wide.
6 These side rooms were built in three levels, one above the other, with thirty rooms on each level. The supports for these side rooms rested on exterior ledges on the Temple wall; they did not extend into the wall.
7 Each level was wider than the one below it, corresponding to the narrowing of the Temple wall as it rose higher. A stairway led up from the bottom level through the middle level to the top level.
8 I saw that the Temple was built on a terrace, which provided a foundation for the side rooms. This terrace was 10 1⁄2 feet high.
9 The outer wall of the Temple's side rooms was 8 3⁄4 feet thick. This left an open area between these side rooms
10 and the row of rooms along the outer wall of the inner courtyard. This open area was 35 feet wide, and it went all the way around the Temple.
11 Two doors opened from the side rooms into the terrace yard, which was 8 3⁄4 feet wide. One door faced north and the other south.
12 A large building stood on the west, facing the Temple courtyard. It was 122 1⁄2 feet wide and 157 1⁄2 feet long, and its walls were 8 3⁄4 feet thick.
13 Then the man measured the Temple, and it was 175 feet long. The courtyard around the building, including its walls, was an additional 175 feet in length.
14 The inner courtyard to the east of the Temple was also 175 feet wide.
15 The building to the west, including its two walls, was also 175 feet wide.
The sanctuary, the inner room, and the entry room of the Temple
16 were all paneled with wood, as were the frames of the recessed windows. The inner walls of the Temple were paneled with wood above and below the windows.
17 The space above the door leading into the inner room, and its walls inside and out, were also paneled.
18 All the walls were decorated with carvings of cherubim, each with two faces, and there was a carving of a palm tree between each of the cherubim.
19 One face—that of a man—looked toward the palm tree on one side. The other face—that of a young lion—looked toward the palm tree on the other side. The figures were carved all along the inside of the Temple,
20 from the floor to the top of the walls, including the outer wall of the sanctuary.
21 There were square columns at the entrance to the sanctuary, and the ones at the entrance of the Most Holy Place were similar.
22 There was an altar made of wood, 5 1⁄4 feet high and 3 1⁄2 feet across. Its corners, base, and sides were all made of wood. "This," the man told me, "is the table that stands in the LORD's presence."
23 Both the sanctuary and the Most Holy Place had double doorways,
24 each with two swinging doors.
25 The doors leading into the sanctuary were decorated with carved cherubim and palm trees, just as on the walls. And there was a wooden roof at the front of the entry room to the Temple.
26 On both sides of the entry room were recessed windows decorated with carved palm trees. The side rooms along the outside wall also had roofs.

에스겔이 환상 중에 본 성전은 화려하게 재건될 미래의 예루살렘 성전입니다. 이 일을 위해 하나님께서는 천사를 통해 성전의 정확한 수치를 측량하게 하시며 에스겔에게 구석구석까지 자세하게 보여주십니다. 건물의 길이와 너비, 벽의 두께까지 정확하게 알려주십니다. 성전에 대한 자세한 측량과 묘사는 성전 중심의 신앙 공동체를 이루어야 하는 바벨론 포로민들에게 큰 소망이 되었을 것입니다. 하나님께서는 이처럼 완벽하게 성전 조감도까지 보여주시면서 희망을 품고 미래를 바라보게 하십니다.

하나님께서 에스겔 선지자에게 환상 중에 보여주신 새 예루살렘 성전은 <에스겔>의 결론이자 제사장 나라 이스라엘의 회복의 절정입니다.
